Niederau

NiederauNiederau, a scenic Austrian resort is situated in the Wildschonau valley. The world renowned village of Niederau attracts tourists from all parts of the world. A famous destination for family vacations, the resort ensures good accommodation and comfortable stay for the tourists. Niederau is equipped with a lot of modern ingredients like gym, fitness centres, beauty salons and recreation spots that ensure a perfect high-class skiing holiday for everyone. Skiing

The Pristine Alpine setting of Niederau is home to nearly 40 kilometres of skiing area. Niederau resort comprises 13 runs and 11 lifts that transport the skiers to different pistes. Situated at an altitude of 830 kilometres, the nursery slopes and the gentle slopes of the Markbachjoch Mountain are meant for the novices. Tree-line skiing area, vertical drops, red runs and trails through the dense woods offer plenty for the intermediate skiers.

Advanced skiers have a vertical drop of 700 metres, three black runs, mogul slopes, off-piste regions, etc to test their ability and enjoy the extreme adventure. For a more diverse terrain, skiers can opt for the Kitzbuhel Alps. The Alps offers nearly 700 kilometres of cross country trails for the expert skiers.

The snow cannons in the resort maintain the consistent snow conditions of the resort. A gondola transports skiers from Niederau to the Markbachjoch Mountain. A free ski bus service links the neighbouring resorts of Auffach and Oberau with Niederau. The ski schools in the resort offer private skiing lessons to the beginners. English-speaking instructors in the ski schools are skillful skiers themselves.

The ski schools in Niederau enjoy a great reputation throughout Austria.

Apart from skiing, snowboarding is another prominent activity in Niederau. The drag lifts served terrain does not offer much for the expert snowboarders but there are certain unique features in the Niederau terrain that provides great fun for snowboarders. Tobogganing parties under the moonlight and fondue nights are favourite activities of the visitors in Niederau. Other outdoor activities are ice-skating, ice curling, paragliding, sleigh rides and winter walks.

After continuous sporting activity, a day trip to the neighbouring Innsbruck and Salzburg can be a pleasing experience. Visiting the two prominent museums in the village and the local art gallery offers a memorable experience for the tourists. Indoor activities like bowling and swimming are meant for non-skiers in the resort. Scenic walks through the picturesque setting of Niederau come as a breath of fresh air after exhausting skiing.

Apres ski

Niederau resort offers informal and relaxed evenings. Though Apres Ski scene is not so prominent in the resort, the presence of a gamut of bars and two night clubs enliven the nightlife scene. Inns, cafes and pubs in the region are filled with live music and great performances. The Gluhwein and schnapps add to Apres Ski fun at the resort. A number of restaurants serve a variety of cuisines much to the delight of the visitors. The Cave Bar under Hotel Staffler in Niederau provides a distinct and unique experience with its exceptional service and atmosphere. The Drift Inn and O'Malley's rank among the favourite haunts of the tourists and locals.
