Thomas Cook Guides

Thomas Cook guides offer a superb and extensive range of travel books to accommodate all sorts of passengers, from City visitors, to back packers, resort holiday makers and those on a cruise.

The guides, produced by Thomson Cook Publishing, are pocket-sized and for all those booking online with Thomas Cook, they can be purchased at a hefty saving of 25%.

The Thomas Cook guides are organised into various categories, into Travellers, Spots, Independent Travellers, Drive Around, Out Around, Timetables and travel Essentials.

The Travellers guides provides an insight into the most popular destinations. Ideal for city breaks, long haul and regional tours, these contain essential information of where to go and what to see, with suggestions as to walks and tours, as well as useful listings for accommodation and restaurants.

The Spots guides provide key information on sun, or City locations. The Hot Spots series is concerned with 'sun' destinations, with a helpful guide to enable holidaymakers to know all about their local resort, as well as the local attractions and sites. The City Spots part of the series allows a City visitor on a short trip to quickly learn about all the top spots within the shortest time, allowing maximum enjoyment time. There are reference pages on shopping, sightseeing, eating and drinking.

The Independent Travellers are specifically written for the backpacking and budget traveller. All the featured journeys have been tried and tested by Thomas Cook researchers, and they highlight the scenic and cultural landmarks of a country, complete with web-links.

For those self-drive travellers, The Drive Around guides are a great source of information and includes a section on B&B France. These feature full colour maps, detour details and town walks. They also include accommodation, dining and shopping suggestions.

Out Around guides are a series of city guides written for the gay, lesbian and other discerning travellers. This unique series of guides has been specifically created for the gay community, with contributions from gay journalists and gay photographers. Includes information for bars, clubs, restaurant and gay-friendly places to stay, plus top sights and other places to visit.

Within the Timetables category is the only concise guide to European and Overseas rail and surface travel. The first edition appeared way back in 1883 and it still remains the reference guide for global travellers today, and includes all the essentials for planning a rail trip.

Travel Essentials guides provide everything a traveller needs to plan trips, including maps and phrasebooks. They are simply some of the best expert reference tools for travellers, and they include maps, atlases, phrasebooks and travel safety.

Thomas Cook guides, some of the best in the business.
