This tiny and narrow country on the African continental mainland is simply a delight for beach bound tourists with its 80km shore line and shining silver sands that exhilerate.
Situated in the mainland of the African continent, Gambia is bordered on the north, east and south by Senegal. It has a small coast on the Atlantic Ocean in the west.

Wildlife is popular and easily recognised animal species are found in the Abuko Natural Reserve which is one of the best places in the world to see the three species of monkeys namely vervet, patas and red colobus, at one place. River Gambia National Park is a home for chimpanzees and oribi and duikers, members of the antelope family can also be seen here in abundance. Cobs, roans, waterbucks and derby elands can be spotted in the direr grassland areas. And not to miss the birds of Senegambia which is a major tourist attraction.
The resort of Gambia is most frequented for bird watching. There are over 300 species of birds to for a traveller for a traveller to identify!
The “Holy Forest” Makasutu is an all-in-one excursion of sorts and a traveller can undertake a safari drive, go for a forest walk, ride a boat, watch the birds, or indulge in cultural entertainments organised in abundance in Makasutu.
Gambia is renowned for sports, and going sport fishing along the river which meanders with Gambia from the west on the Atlantic to the east, cutting the country into two halves, is is sure to keep the tourist excitingly occupied.
Beach casting is again popular in western part of Gambia in Sanyang, Gunjur and Kartung. Creek fishing and deep sea fishing and sun bathing are other must-try recreations in Gambia.
